Academic Visit to Ankara, Turkey

Academic Visit to Ankara, Turkey

Association of British Turkish Academics (ABTA) is the leading professional association for scholars in the U.K. and in Turkey dedicated to creating academic partnerships and bridges between the two countries. ABTA’s mission is to promote educational, scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, and to contribute to a next generation of scholars and academic leaders interested in developing enduring ties between Britain and Turkey.

As part of this mission, ABTA is organising the Academic Mobility Programme. This programme includes short-term academic visits to our partnering institutions that would involve research seminars, guest lectures, academic workshops, and professional meetings with host institutions’ academic staff.

In this framework, ABTA is organising an academic trip to Ankara between Sep 16th and Sep 20th, 2015. Participants in this trip will visit prestigious universities in Ankara and meet some of their academic staff and students. In addition, participants will explore Ankara and Istanbul’s unique historical heritage and its rich local traditional culture. Our host universities have been very generous in offering to partially cover the costs of the programme and participants are only required to pay a registration fee of £125. This fee will cover airfare from London, accommodation and subsistence.

Registration is on a first come, first served basis and please contact us at info@abtanet.org.uk for registration.
